| About the Product: Citric acid is colorless and odorless with fresh acid taste. It can exist in two forms: the monohydrate form & the anhydrous form . About 50% of citric acid is used in soft drinks. The other food industries that use Citric Acid are: Wine, Candies & Syrups, Canned fruit & Vegetables, Jams & Jellies, Gelatin Desserts, Dried meat & sausages, Antioxidants, Dairy, Frozen fruits, Edible oil, cosmetic toiletries industry , Pharmaceutical products , Detergents, Textile Dyes and Metal Finishing Industries. Citric acid is manufactured by fermentation of molasses either by surface fermentation or submerged fermentation. Europe, USA and China successfully produce citric acid by biotechnology. Economics of processing Citirc acid will be based on Capital Cost and manufacturing cost for various feed stock such as glucose, molasses and sucrose. Industry Status: China: About 75% Chinese citric acid is exported to oversea market every year. Recent exports of china is about 250,000 tons to countries such as USA, Japan, Belgium, Netherlands, India, etc The price for citric acid mono and citric acid anhydride is USD 480 and 600 per ton respectively. |
